We headed south for our family vacation after our annual visit to the Iowa State Fair.
In my world, it would be sinful NOT to attend the Iowa State Fair.
We enjoyed all of our usual staples.
Lucas couldn't get enough of the tattoos.
It didn't take long for the corndog-filled kids to relax.
Just south of St. Louis we stopped at Grant's Farm, which is home to more than 900 animals. The Farm takes its name from the 18th President of the United States, Ulysses S. Grant. In the 1850s, Grant founded and farmed a portion of the 281 acres. The land is now owned and preserved by the Busch family and Anheuser-Busch's Clydesdales call it home.
You have to ride the tram to enter the farm - it was a thumbs up.
The iron fence at Grant's Farm is made of thousands of Civil War rifle barrels.
This was originally made for Ulysses S. Grant's home.
We hit the road and continued south.
When we saw this road sign we considered moving...
But continued on our way...
