A Perry Tale: October 2015

I started this post a long, long time ago. Time got away from me and then the 'draft' post got lost in the shuffle and wasn't posted.

Family history is interesting to me. The 'pioneer' lifestyle of the late 1800's and early 1900's is so intriguing to me… the life challenges of mother nature were incredible to survive through. And the old photos - my goodness what stories those tattered edged black and white photos could tell. I hope I can explain things in a way easy to connect to me and for future generations to connect to themselves.

Dorothea Druckhammer married Hinrich (Henry) Kelling

Their children: Anna, William, Doris, Fritz, Henry

{Our family speculation is there is some Native American blood in the Druckhammer family.}

Doris Kelling married William Badtram on September 1, 1883 in Davenport, Iowa.

Their children: Anna, Edward, Clara, Dora, Elsie

Edward married Annie Blake on February 27, 1912.

Their children: Albert, Alice, Henry, Robert, Dorothy, Harry, Clarence, Edward Jr.
My grandpa is Harry Badtram.

Emma Nebert married Johannes Blake.
Their son, Johannes, married Annie Shoemaker.
They had children: Annie, (twins) Henry & Frank and Caroline. Son Johnnie died on February 4, 1897 at nine days old.
Annie married Edward Badtram on February 27, 1912.

Harry married Alta Ewoldt on January 12, 1946.

Our family celebrated Grandpa Harry's 90th birthday.

Mary married Richard Feldpausch on December 6, 1969 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in DeWitt, Iowa.

Their children: Ann Maria (04/18/1971), Brian Richard (08/14/1973), Karen Ann (06/21/1976), Teresa Ann (10/30/1979)

Ann married Koen Symens on April 27, 2005. Ann died February 16, 2013.

Brian married Jennifer on June 10, 2000 in Beaman, Iowa.
Their children: Abby Lynn (12/03/2001), Nick Richard (05/20/2004), Will Robert (04/07/2009)

Karen married Dominic on November 27, 1999 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in DeWitt, Iowa.
Their children: Caleb James (10/03/2000), Adele Marie (10/11/2002), Claire Catherine (01/12/2006)

Teresa married Brent on June 7, 2003 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in DeWitt, Iowa.
Their children: Lucas Mitchell (12/13/2007), Hannah Marie (1/06/2011), Ryan Raphael (6/25/2013)

Harry Badtram died February 22, 2013.
