#37

Today is my 37th birthday.

I got the privilege of sleeping in today, which is a pretty awesome gift.  I also received an excellent gift of perspective while sitting in church on this gorgeous fall day.  My life is wonderful.  I'm not bragging.  I'm feeling like I am blessed beyond deserving.  God created the most perfect husband for me in Brent.  The same good Lord gave us three little miracles to raise into adults.  My parents gave my siblings and I a great upbringing with wonderful memories and lessons on life.  My in-laws and family are such a wonderful blessing.  And our friends.  They are the ones who keep us in check.  When I'm having a bad day or one of our kids is struggling with something they are often the sounding board.  Their wisdom and faith will likely lift my mood and offer a strategy or story about their own parenting experiences.

I'm ending this birthday day with confidence and hope that the year ahead will be an amazing one.

Hannah's apple field trip

Kindergarten does a big unit on apples.  They took a field trip to Center Grove Orchard and I got to go with :-)

Hannah and Hayden.

A few days later the class had a special apple day at school.
Aunt Leslee came to participate and it was sure a special day!

flag football season

Lucas had another fun flag football season.

His favorite part of football is that his dad is the coach. :-)

Hannah's surgery

Hannah had two teeth that needed pulled and to have spacers put into those spots.
She took her owl, Smoky, for a companion.

We had the best nurse ever, Loree!

All better and the tooth fairy came to visit!

two wheels!

Someone learned to ride without training wheels!  Woohoo!

This girl is a hard nut to crack.  She wanted the training wheels off her regular bike.  We took them off, tried a few times and she got frustrated.  Enough time passed that we regressed and put the training wheels back on because she wasn't even wanting to ride her bike at all.

When the time came to try again, we didn't take the training wheels off her bike.  We pulled out "ol' blue" - the same bike Lucas learned on.  It was magic. We tried a couple times and she took off!

moms vs sons

Moms vs. Sons Flag Football is a pretty fun event that the PTO hosts.

This was our fourth year of playing and let me tell, these boys are getting better by the play!  Lucas made the first touchdown for the Sons.  There were a LOT of attempts by the Moms to make a touchdown.  A lot.  I've learned a little bit over the last couple of years watching Brent coach the boys in their flag football league.  I called the quarterback sneak play and I made a touchdown!  On the last play of the game, I caught an interception and the game ended 6-6.  This night could go down in history as my strongest athletic performance.  Ever.  :-)   It's as close as the Moms will ever be to beating this group of Sons.

cheer clinic

The high school offered their annual cheer clinic to the elementary students and Hannah was so excited to participate.

Hannah and Meadow.

She got to cheer with her favorite cheerleader ever - Hanna V!

Another one of her favorites was there, too - Hannah T with Marshall.
