snow day

There have been several snow days this school year.  The bitter cold has given us a teeny reprieve lately and we've actually had SUNshine!  Hannah has been asking for weeks to make snow angels.  

Another day we took advantage of Daddy coming home early to stay warm and cozy inside with Ryan.

Who said a playset is only for the warm weather?

We built our own sledding track like in the Winter Olympics. The sled path was so slippery and shiny that the kids wouldn't walk on it because they didn't want to "mess it up."  I had to give them scores on each sled expedition.  It was fun to watch them bear hug together to sled down the path together.  

Not surprisingly, when both kids climbed on the sled with me, it wasn't a smooth ride.  ;-) 

I'm not sure who enjoyed the fresh air and winter playtime more - the kids or me.  It felt so good!
