when I grow up

Last night at dinner we asked Lucas what he wanted to be when he grows up...
"Batman."
"Okay, what else do you want to be?"  I asked, surprised.  Lucas talks about super-hero characters, but he has never seen anything with them in it. 
"Superman."
"Okay, what else do you want to be?" I asked.
"Hmmm..." he said, thinking, tapping his finger against his lip.
"Like a doctor, a veterinarian, a farmer - "
"A football player!"  Lucas exclaimed. 
"Who will you play for?" Brent asked - this is a loaded question, of course.  :)
"Cy!"
"What else will you be besides a football player?" Brent inquired.
"A farmer and a football player," Lucas said decisively.
"What do you think Hannah will be when she grows up?" Brent asked.
"A doctor.  And she'll play basketball, too,"  Lucas said. 
"Coach Fennelly will like that," I quipped.

Of course after the conversation I told Brent we should have recorded that exchange but this blog entry will have to do for our memory.
