Cyclone basketball

My toothless date.

And a pretty cheerleader.

He waited forever to get a Hoiburger!

My lucky Cyclone shoes that my lovely hubby gave me for my birthday.

Lucas caught a 3-point ball from the cheerleaders after one of Monte Morris' three point baskets.

Almost no one would be able to spot us on television.  But when I am home watching I always look!  On this particular night I saw Brent and Lucas several times - I had to document it.

Taking Loree to a game for her birthday was a fun treat!

Getting the high roller treatment at Johnny's with free food and drinks was fun, too!

We enjoyed the Big 12 Tournament with the Maddens again this year and convinced the Krauses to come for the fun, too!

Teresa and Megan.  Round one win!

1st grade basketball

If Lucas had money in his pocket the day the basketball forms went home, he would've signed himself up.  Minus the parent permission part.  He was shoving the form in my face as soon as I saw him.  The 1st grade basketball program is really just the beginning steps in teaching fundamentals skills.  But it didn't matter to Lucas at all that there are no games and just a few weeks of practice.  He loved every minute of it.  We are thankful to the volunteer parents who give their time to make the program happen.

I don't care if he is good at the game or not.  I just love how much he loves the game!

He is aiming for the second, lower hoop.

It was fun to watch he and Owen guard each other.

The amount of recess hours these two play basketball is crazy.
Their recess games are to-be-continued for ever and ever.
A few days ago the score was 131-131.  Ha!

Chicago Bulls

We headed into Chicago a few weeks ago for double the fun - visiting Brad, Michelle, Cameron and Nolan and taking Lucas to a Chicago Bulls game.  We gave him tickets for his birthday.

Nothing says basketball like Michael Jordan.  As a kid, I was a Chicago Bulls fan.  That was in the 90's when all the Bulls did was win.  And win.  And win.  Jordan and Pippen.  Lucas caught the fever for Jordan about a year ago and has continued to fill his head with facts about him.  It's fun to reminisce!

Seeing these and the numerous NBA champion banners hanging in the United Center was neat.

HUGE feet!

Excited kid.

Studying the roster.  The first thing he looked at was college each of the players attended.  He was happy to find Big 12 colleges on the list.

Starting line up. The music!

We had a blast!

Athletico - Uncle Brad's company!

Benny the Bull.

Final: Chicago Bulls 112 to Phoenix Suns 107

It was a fun and memorable night.

sledding party

When a friend sends a group text message before church that they are hosting a sledding party at their house that afternoon [on a sunny, mild temperature afternoon] everyone says yes!  We had enough snow to sled several times during the winter but we didn't have a lot of decent temperatures for kids to play outside.

This day was perfect!

Hannah and Sophie.

Brent and Ryan.

Lucas.

Do you see those two people between the break in the trees?  That's where the sled hill ended.  The trip back up the hill is always a workout but the kids never complained.  Smiles covered their faces all afternoon!

Hannah and Dad.

Loree and Sara.

Teresa and Maggie.

It was perfect snowman building weather, too!

It's basically a snow cone, right?!

Finished product - Ava, Jonah, Hannah and a happy snowman.

MELT

I can't explain the rejuvenated, refreshed and thankful feelings I have after I spend some time with the girlies I grew up with.

ISU gymnastics meet

One of Hannah's birthday gifts was a date night to the ISU Gymnastics meet with just mom and dad.  No brothers.  It was fun to be up close to the girls and the gymnastic floor.
