~fair~

The weather was great the week of the county fair.  Ryan was 2 1/2 weeks old and enjoyed his first fair experience.  Lucas got to ride on a float during the parade and thought that was big stuff.  Hannah was glad to sit and catch {way too much} candy.

She loved the pigs and was squealing with excitement!  {She was squealing, not the pigs}

Who knows, maybe we'll have pig-loving kids?!?!

The rinky-dink rides at the county fair are mostly the only ones our kids get to ride on.  We don't do rides at the state fair and we don't usually have a lot of other chances to ride carnival rides.  Nothing is better than a ride with your best friend!  Jonah and Lucas.

Hannah loved the boats.  I was surprised she was so good at moving around in them... I thought she might get stranded in the middle of the pond.

Lucas participated in the kid's pedal pull again this year.  Both of his 'pulls' were in the 35 feet range.

Pedal pull ribbon.
You can see Ryan in the background... this was mostly his take on the fair - asleep and enjoying the free ride.

On the last night of the fair I took Lucas to the demolition derby.  It was too loud for Hannah and Brent stayed home with her and Ryan.  It was the first time (about two hours) that I was away from Ryan.  A funny feeling.  But before the demo derby we made one last loop through the barns because Lucas said he was sad the fair was over until next year.  I'm a county fair girl and I totally know the feeling he was talking about.  It's fun to enjoy it while it is here but sort of sad when it's over.  We still get to enjoy the state fair, though!

No, Ryan

"No, Ryan, my banana!"

Because she truly thought his little stretching/reaching/flailing arm was trying to steal her banana.

He does look kind of mischievous, though!

Cyclone club summer party

The Jr. Cyclone Club had a summer membership kick off a few weeks ago.

Checking out the field with daddy.

Just Lucas and Cy... Hannah didn't want to get too close.

Trying on a real football players jersey, pads and helmet.

Our little Cyclones.

There was face painting, which Lucas always wants to get.  Brent offered Lucas to get as many tattoos as he wanted instead of standing in the long line waiting for a face painting.  The cheerleaders were putting on the tattoos and they really got a kick out of Lucas and Hannah trying to find enough places to put tattoos.

We did not tattoo Ryan :)

R's cowlick

Due to this cowlick, when Ryan's hair is long enough to need a cut,
I foresee him having the same buzz cut as his brother, Lucas.

The July 4th weekend we spent a lot of time with the Perry family.  Brad, Michelle and Cameron and Uncle Brian were all home.  We spent a lot of time at Grandma and Grandpa's -- just hanging out.

Cameron, Hannah and Lucas.

Rides with Uncle Brian.

Bubbles with Papa Steve.

Pool and slip n slide fun!

Ryan's first parade!

Grandma Connie, Hannah and one week old Ryan.

swimming fishes

We love swimming at the pool!
We were able to squeeze in swim lessons before Ryan's arrival.

This pic was taken by the local newspaper.  A great photo!

She looks like such a good listener and student.

Diving for rings.

On the last day of swim lessons, Hannah got to jump off the diving board.  She never hesitated!

Weeeee!

Since Lucas was hanging our at Hannah's swim lessons, they let him jump off, too.  Lucky!

Splash!

He got to do the same at his lessons, though.  :)
He's learned so much in the couple years of swim lessons.
[And that's pool water draining out of his life jacket =-)]

Practicing the back float.

Must get to the slide!

The last day of Lucas' lessons he and his classmates got to go down the slides with lifeguards.

It is so great to see your kids learn new things and grow in confidence!  Just yesterday Hannah was so proud to tell me she went under the water at the swimming pool.  Lucas is on to the next level of lessons for next year.  Good work, L & H!
